Our History

Suva Funeral Directors Limited was formed in 2010 and started operation in 2011 by having Fiji’s very first funeral home with full funeral service such as dressing deceased, providing coffin or casket of choice, private family viewing area, organize full burial or cremation ceremony.

Our company is Fijian owned and all directors of the company are in businesses in Fiji.

The Funeral Home was set up with the view to have its own morgue services around Fiji and have one stop shop for grieving family. Due to traditional beliefs we were unable to secure location for the morgue thus request was made to Ministry of Health who obliged with our idea and the service that the people in Fiji will receive in times of grieve.

The Fiji Government through Ministry of Health awarded tender for CWM Hospital morgue and this led to the formation of Suva Morgue Services Limited. Our Company took over on 1st January 2013. 5 months of renovation we now have state of the art morgue facility with funeral shop at the CWM Hospital, Suva.

In 2014 our Company was awarded tender for Lautoka and Labasa Morgue and this led to the formation of Lautoka Funeral Directors, Lautoka Morgue Services, Labasa Funeral Directors & Labasa Morgue Services.

Today we are the largest funeral directors in Fiji with plan to construct gas crematorium in Suva.

Our Management

Divendra Prasad

Divendra Prasad is the Chief Executive Officer of SFD Group of Companies. He is also a Barrister and solicitor by profession and is responsible for day to day running of the business which includes morgue service, funeral service and coffin manufacturing. With over 25 years’ experience in business sector he is well known within the community and ensures that families in grieve are given the best service.

Rod Jepsen

Rod Jepsen is the shareholder of the SFD Group of companies and is a land survor by profession. He has over 50 years experience with him and ensures that the compnies are perfomed with the higest standard. He oversees overseas import and export business and oversees expansion of funeral service in Fiji.

Lanieta Bale

Lanieta Bale is the Executive director and have over 15 years experience in morgue and funeral operations. She oversees day to day operations of both funeral and morgue service and ensures that each funeral is accorded the best. She makes all funeral arrangmemts and oversees deceased coming from overses or to send deceased to any county in the world. She is well versed with the Ministy of Health protocols and Civil Aviation Fiji protocols hence families can rely on her expertise when it comes to arrange a funeral.

Our Future Plans

We are currently working towards constructing a funeral and crematorium home in Suva which budget over 3.5 million dollars.

This project is yet to be undertaken however Government of Fiji have already allocated a land and now awaiting final approvals.

We are also establishing funeral home in Navua, Sigatoka, Nadi and Ba with expansions of morgue service into outer islands we wll.
